The centre is located in the heart of Östergötland, 30 km south of Linköping. It's nestled on a hill overlooking Lake Stora Rengen and is accesible by public transportation.

Stiftsgården Vårdnäs can accommodate up to 100 guests. The conference rooms are well equipped and there are several group rooms. Our professional staff is there to help you with all pratical matters and to ensure that your stay is pleasurable.

The village Vårdnäs is a historical site where people have lived since Stone Age. As was common back then, the name Vårdnäs reflected the original purpose of the settlement. The name "vård" came from the old Norse word which meant guard or guarding. The other word "näs" is the Swedish word for a spit. So Vårdnäs means "Beacon on the spit".

The surroundings are ideal for a retreat. The pristine forests and water ways give a sense of oneness with nature and harmony. The Kinda Canal passes right by the recreational center, so you can hire a boat or take a cruise on Kinda Canal.

We offer all kinds of recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, swimming, soccer, volleyball, billiard, and even a sauna located right on the lake shore.
