Take the car to the starting point of Östgötaleden trail - when staying at Vårdnäs

If you use your own car, it is fine to park at the starting points for the Östgötaleden.


Below you will find a list of different starting locations - how to drive there and where to park. Please note that you/you need another car to go and pick up the other car when you have finished walking.Vårdnäs Stiftsgård unfortunately cannot offer a ride.

Parking at Sätravallen

At the starting point Sätravallen there is a car park where you can park for free. It takes about 10 minutes to drive there from Vårdnäs.To get to the right place if you put in the GPS - write: "Sätravallen". Drive almost all the way to that place. The parking lot is about 100 m earlier. Follow signs on site.

From the parking lot, it is about 100 m to the sign for the trail.


Parking at Bjärka Säby

In Bjärka Säby it is easy to park and it is free.To get to the right place if you put in the GPS - write: "Nya slottet bjärka säby". Follow the signs towards "Café" to park in the correct parking lot. From the parking lot, it is about 100 m to the sign for the trail.


Parking at Hamra lock

At Hamra lock there is a parking lot for about 10 cars. Parking is free.To get to the right place if you put in the GPS - type: "hammer lock". The car park is right next to the road before the bridge.The hiking trail goes right past the parking lot, so you can't miss it.


Parking at Stafsäter

At Stafsäter you can park at the nature reserve. Parking is free. The trail passes right by, so easy to find.To get to the right place if you put in the GPS - write: "Stafsäter natur reservat".
